MMA fighter and son of UFC legend Rampage Jackson charged with felony following violent incident in Los Angeles wrestling event
Shocking Assault in the Ring
Raja Jackson, the 25-year-old son of former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, has been arrested on felony charges after a shocking attack at a professional wrestling show in Los Angeles. During an August event at KnokX Pro Wrestling, Jackson stormed the ring in street clothes and launched a real assault on wrestler Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith. Witnesses say Jackson slammed Smith to the mat and continued punching him even after he lost consciousness.
Severe Injuries Reported
Smith suffered multiple serious injuries, including fractures to his jaw and maxilla, deep cuts to his upper lip, and the loss of several teeth. He was hospitalized in critical condition, spending several days in intensive care before being discharged on August 31. The incident, streamed live online, drew immediate outrage from both the wrestling community and fans, who condemned the violent outburst.
Legal Action and Bail Set
Los Angeles authorities confirmed that Jackson was arrested and booked on a felony battery charge. His bail was set at $50,000. While legal proceedings are ongoing, the case has sparked wider debate about safety protocols at wrestling events and the blurred line between staged performance and real violence.
Rampage Jackson Speaks Out
Rampage Jackson initially defended his son but later acknowledged the seriousness of the assault. He suggested Raja must face the legal consequences while also calling for rehabilitation measures such as therapy and community service. The case has amplified discussions around the responsibility of fighters, promoters, and streaming platforms in preventing violent incidents from escalating beyond entertainment.
