Stephen Curry’s Next Chapter: New Book, No Retirement Date

A three-book deal kicks off with Shot Ready

Stephen Curry has signed a three-book agreement with One World (Random House). The first title, Shot Ready, arrived on September 9, 2025, billed as a “personal reflection” on his life on and off the court and featuring 100+ photos, in collaboration with his Unanimous Media team.

Retirement talk—on his terms, not a timeline

Curry has acknowledged he’s closer to the end than the beginning of his career, but he hasn’t set a date. He’s repeatedly said he wants to finish on his own terms—ideally still competing and healthy—rather than being forced out.

Still committed to Golden State

Contractually, Curry remains tied to the Warriors through the 2026–27 season after an extension that keeps him in the Bay for the near future. He’s emphasized a desire to keep chasing playoff runs with Golden State.

Life after basketball: coaching, media, ownership?

Asked about post-NBA plans, Curry has been open to several possibilities. He’s mused about the appeal of coaching at the high-school level one day, has shown interest in broadcasting, and has discussed potential paths in team ownership and women’s sports investment.
